CIGP and Visible Impact Sign MoU to Strengthen Governance, Gender Equality, and Digital Innovation in Nepal

Center for Innovative Governance Practices (CIGP) and Visible Impact (Visim) signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a result of a highly productive strategic meeting held in Kathmandu. The strategic meeting brought together the senior leadership from both organizations, including the CIGP Executive Chairperson, Krishna Hari Baskota ,and the President of Visible Impact, Medha Sharma, who discussed their shared goals and areas of future collaboration.

Participants in the meeting reviewed the current state of governance in Nepal, pointing out areas of deficiencies and opportunities where collective efforts could bring about a tangible impact. Strengthening public institutions, enhancing accountability, and making governance reforms inclusive for women, youth, and marginalized groups were stressed from both sides. The session also mentioned the use of digital transformation, including Artificial Intelligence, as potentially a game-changing solution to enhance the delivery of public service.

The meeting also concentrated on advancing gender equality and social inclusion. Visible Impact shared experiences in youth leadership and women's empowerment, while CIGP reflected on the importance of contributing to the localization of global frameworks such as CEDAW and the Beijing Platform for Action. The discussions were held on how both organizations can jointly contribute to more inclusive policymaking and community engagement.

Participants concurred that practical steps should form the initial bases of their collaboration through coordinated capacity-building programs, policy support initiatives, and activities aimed at encouraging digital governance. There was a commitment toward close collaboration with government institutions and development partners, as well as exploration of possibilities for joint research and mobilization of resources.

Both organizations expressed confidence that their combined expertise and shared vision will help drive more effective, inclusive, and innovative governance across Nepal.
